Peter’s Journey
Peter Scott Elliott is a Canadian Landscape Painter and Artist. He is inspired by the vast variety of wonderful vistas that the Georgian Bay Area of Ontario, Canada has to offer. Working to capture the energy and vibrancy of the Great Canadian Shield.
Peter produces most of his work using a unique limited pallet. He utilizes only five colours to create all the visual detail and excitement within his paintings. Choosing not to use black in any of his work. Instead, dark colours are achieved with a combination of primary colour and burnt umber to achieve rich deep tones in the shadows of his work. A technique he learned in his formative years as an artist.
Peter uses a broad Impasto brush stroke with a heavy application of colour as he flows with his work. The movement of the piece is captured in the moment and the impact of the colour resonates with a mindful beauty that brings harmony and energy to the admirer.

Peter’s love for art started at a young age. Creating pencil drawings and clay sculptures that represented all the creatures in his imagination. Peter enjoyed working in pen and ink the most at a young age, producing detailed comic book illustrations. In high school, Peter became very interested in technology alongside art. By the mid 90’s Peter had built his own powerful 3D capable computer and had already begun to produce 3D art.
After obtaining a degree in Computer Animation at the Academy of Design and Technology. Peter began his career in the arts as a Computer Animator in 1998. Working on a wide variety of projects in Film and television. Some of his credits include the movie Friday the 13, Jason X, creating the animated main character in High tech Toys for Discovery Canada, producing the graphics and animations for the 1999 Gemini Awards Show, several animations for Prozac music videos and various commercials for companies as big as Sonic Drive In. Peter spent several years producing animation and video for the educational market. Where he worked with some of the largest publishers in North America, such as Harcourt School Publishers.
Peter has used a wide variety of techniques and mediums to expand his creativity. Over the past several years, he has returned to his roots as a visual artist. Acrylic landscapes are his passion, and the Great Canadian Shield continuously inspires him. Peter moved to Collingwood, Ontario, in 2022 where he is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Georgian Bay area. He enjoys working as a colour specialist and creating unique one of a kind landscapes. He loves being a part of the community and continues to create more art.
